Working with International Partners and Advisors, any new technologies (e.g. Satellite/Remote Management and Reporting) or processes for boosting coffee production and environmental protection will be incorporated and achieved through training, workshops, technical capacity building with the tribal youth, the farmers, women and other groups.

Project Management - Institutional Capability
Tribes and Natures Defenders Inc., (TRINAD) - is comprised of a tribal council, tribal farmers, and women groups; all have pledged to be actively involved in the Project during implementation. The organization encourages the participation of within the community from women groups, through member of the Higa-onon indigenous peoples, to Peoples with Disabilities. The involvement of all marginalized groups within the Project is vitally important to TRINAD and will promote unity, avoiding any potential racial or gender discrimination. As previously stated, women have a pivotal role – they are involved throughout the design, implementation, and operation this agroforestry and coffee production Project. The Project’ management and outcomes address the needs of the whole community; it must put an end to the need of women and/or men suffering physically and mentally in their struggle to find foods to nourish their children.

The Project concept has evolved from the input of all beneficiaries to address the challenges, the needs, the expectations across the whole diversity of the Lanao del Norte , Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon communities. The Consultation process in developing this Project plan involved tribal farmers, women groups, members of the tribal council of elders. They agreed and defined the best project structure to meet the top tribal priorities for economic stability and protection of their sacred forests. This holistic, fully inclusive approach will ensure that the benefits achieved are delivered across full spectrum of the tribal communities. The tribal council, tribal farmers, women groups and community members are totally committed and dedicated to the successful Project planning, implementation and monitoring. This Project’s realization, and its success, are vital to them and to all the people and families within Lanao del Norte – economically, environmentally, socially and politically; it can literally save the forest Higa-onon Tribe.

The Tribes and Natures Defenders Inc. (TRINAD Inc,) is a Tribal-led Non-Government Organization (NGO) based in Philippines. The Organization has a respected track record in implementing projects on environmental protection, restoration, poverty reduction, healthcare, education, and reconciliation/peace building. In addition, TRINAD has successful achieved projects in community development focused on forest Indigenous Peoples.
As all records and reports highlight, TRINAD has a 100% success rate in delivering all funded projects; an achievement that is a source of local pride and wider respect and acknowledgement. TRINAD has the capability and the capacity to run major projects and to ensure all KPIs and target outcomes are achieved – for all stakeholders, funders, partners, and most importantly local community members.

TRINAD are totally focused on ensuring that all benefits are enjoyed appropriately across the targeted marginalized groups. Ultimately the Carbon Credits Income and the coffee and cacao production Harvest Yield Income/Profits will be distributed to farmers that will facilitate an equal/equitable sharing of income and respect to all involved – full and open disclosure and transparency will be at the very core of this process.
All revenues, receipts and disbursement will be professionally recorded, monitored, and reported; this is an integral value to the tribal communities.

- The project will benefit all age groups within the immediate core Project this extends to 3,950 who are directly “involved” - children, youth, women, men and elders - aging from newborn to 80+ years old.
- Gender equality is a top priority - women and men will equally be active project participants and beneficiaries – across all 30 clans of the Higa-onon and Talaandig Indigenous People
- The process of decision-making will be shared among the men and women participants and beneficiaries,
- This will also be replicated within management and staff of Tribes and Natures Defenders Inc, the Project Managers/organization, Nand all other stakeholders within the communities – all women’s/gender decisions, issues and problems will be respected and included.
