A MESSAGE FROM THE HIGAONON PEOPLE
By | |
Greetings from the Sacred Forest. We are asking for your assistance and involvement in this project, so that we will be successful in uplifting our lives to ensure and enhance our survival, to protect our lands, to tackle urgent climate change challenges - and to make a safe world for our children.
ABOUT THE SACRED FOREST
By | |
The Sacred Forest is the last home of the Higaonon indigenous peoples, wildlife habitat, the sacred place where we Higaonon tribal members exercise our beliefs and cultural connection to the mother earth. We believe that if we lose our nature, then we lose our culture.
CHALLENGES
By | |
The Higa-onon and Talaandig communities are long-time inhabitants and forest dwellers in these Barangays; they are facing major, increasing and life-limiting challenges.
SOLUTIONS
By | |
To tackle, address and ultimately overcome the major, decades-long problems and abuse of local lands, rainforest depletion, loss, and neglect, and the appalling social consequences they have created, this Project has established a number of positive goals and objectives.
MANAGING THE PROJECT
By | |
Project Managers, TRINAD, have established policies/processes to enable and deliver sustainability - organizational and institutional capacity, environmental and carbon criteria, as well as the financial and technical viability of the Project. TRINAD will be the governance and reporting organization, managing and monitoring the Project to achieve sustainability and commercial success throughout the next 5 to 10 years.
PARTNERS STORY
By | |
Hello, I'm Tony Crooks from Aotea Global. My work usually involves solving problems for people in Africa, where we operate in eight countries. However, one Saturday morning I got a message from Datu Lanelio Sangcoan, the leader of The Higaonon, an ancient tribe in the Philippines. *Datu asked me if I could think of ways to help him and his people raise money so that they don't have to sell their own lands from under their feet because of poverty. I said I'd try, but couldn't promise anything..
DONORS INVOLVEMENT
By | |
When you donate squares of land to Tribal-Trust, you know that your money is going towards saving the ancient rainforest of the Tribal Lands, and preserving an important little corner of our planet for the future. That is a good enough reason in itself. However, you can become more involved if you want to, and so can whoever you donate on behalf of, as a gift..
